After completing the Gender Studies Concentration, you will be able to:
- Analyze in a systematic manner the social and cultural construction of gender in our own and other contexts from a variety of disciplinary perspectives;
- Explain gender biases in society, knowledge, media, social justice, and everyday life;
- Research on gender issues as they intersect with the hierarchies of class, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and with national and global formations, and so on.

* Students must take ONE required course and SIX elective courses to fulfill the Concentration requirements.
* Students who have successfully accumulated 21 units required by the concentration programme may apply for graduation with concentration in March of your final year.
* To ensure interdisciplinary diversity, students should choose the six elective courses by observing the following requirements:
1. At least four of the courses should be at 3000-level or above;
2. Choose courses from two or more Offering Departments.

A: The required course “Gender, Society, Culture” will be offered once every academic year in semester 1.
A: We are pleased to inform you that double-counting of courses for the Gender Studies Concentration was approved by the Senate.
1). If a GSC elective course is also listed under the required courses of a major, it may be doubly counted towards the GSC and the major. (maximum six units)
2). If a GSC elective course is also listed under the elective courses of a major, it may be doubly counted towards the GSC and the major. (maximum six units)
