Exploring New Collaboration Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area: Visit by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Centre for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao Studies to Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, HKBU

Prof. Huang Ping, the Director of the Centre for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, along with Prof. Chen Xinxin, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of Law visited the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at HKBU on July 4, 2024. During the visit, they engaged in discussion with Prof. Daniel Lai, the Faculty Dean, and Prof. Yang Chun, the Associate Dean (Research), to discuss shared vision on future collaboration. The primary focus of the meeting was on establishing a platform for research and academic exchange in the Greater Bay Area, specifically in humanities and social sciences, with the aim of creating more collaboration opportunities for students and scholars from both Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Both parties stressed the importance of enhancing the research network in the Greater Bay Area to facilitate academic exchanges across different levels. The initiatives may include collaborative research projects, exchange programs for students and scholars, and the development of research facilities. These endeavours are anticipated to improve student-scholar interactions, foster deeper collaborations, and broaden academic research prospects in humanities and social sciences within the Greater Bay Area.
