Students of Hong Kong Baptist University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and various Faculties/Schools Participated in the 7th Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Population Aging Summer Camp in Beijing

The 7th Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Population Aging Summer Camp was successfully organized by the Institute of Population Research at Peking University from 1st July to 13th July 2024, in partnership with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of HKBU and other universities in Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The summer camp was designed to bolster research efforts in population aging trends and foster academic exchange and collaboration across the region. Eleven students from Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and various faculties/schools of HKBU, along with over 370 students from different universities took part in the programme.

Prof. Daniel Lai, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at HKBU, delivered the first keynote address titled "Frontier of Gerontological Research" in the evening of 1st July 2024, in the Overseas Distinguished Speakers Series. Prof. Lai expounded on his insights into the field of population aging, stressing the significance of transdisciplinary cooperation. He emphasized gerontology as a paradigm for transdisciplinary research, illustrating how it can inspire students to integrate diverse disciplinary perspectives into their academic pursuits.
