The 2026 FASS Summer School was held as a full-day event on 27 June 2026, with 51 students from 16 secondary schools engaged in a day of interactive activities organized by the four academies - the Academy of Chinese, History, Religion and Philosophy (CHRP), the Academy of Geography, Sociology and International Studies (GSIS), the Academy of Language and Culture (LAC), and the Academy of Wellness and Human Development (WHD) .
The event was designed to introduce secondary school students to the wide range of studies offered by the Faculty and to give them a taste of what being an undergraduate is like at HKBU. Throughout the day, students actively participated in the interactive sessions and team-based activities, gaining an introductory overview of the disciplinary focus of each department and academy. In addition to these sessions, participants had the opportunity to experience and explore specific facilities and visit our learning centres through group activities. Furthermore, the students were offered a guided campus tour, where they explored various university facilities, allowing them to gain a firsthand sense of our learning environment. Feedback from surveys was positive, with students noting that the abundant and interactive group activities made the experience enjoyable. Most importantly, participants indicated a deeper understanding of, and greater interest in, the FASS curriculum.
This initiative served as a valuable opportunity for students to explore their academic interests. Positive feedback from the participants highlighted that the programme helped them gain a much clearer understanding of the diverse disciplines offered across our faculty and four academies.
The principals luncheon attened by principals and teachers also gave a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and create valuable connections for future collaborations.
