Release of the i‑GESS Training Manuals (December 2025 Version)

27-02-2026

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is pleased to announce the release of the i‑GESS Training Manuals (December 2025 version). Developed to strengthen the capacity of frontline practitioners, the three manuals are designed for practitioners working with older adults in NGOs and community organizations, university teaching staff, and secondary school teachers.

As Hong Kong and many global communities navigate rapid population ageing, these manuals provide ready‑to‑use session plans, curriculum frameworks, engagement strategies, and facilitation tools that support the delivery of high‑quality intergenerational programmes fostering empathy, meaningful interaction, and shared learning between youth and older adults.

Developed through a multi‑year collaboration among NGOs, community organizations, schools, and universities from 2021 to 2025, the manuals draw upon extensive real‑world experience and tested best practices. Their development was made possible through the generous support of the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation and ZeShan Foundation.

To ensure broad accessibility, the finalized manuals are now available on both the HKBU and PolyU websites, enabling practitioners across sectors to download and adopt them easily in their work.
