FASS Sharing Session with Dr. Roy Chung, GBS, JP

On 27 October 2026, students joined a sharing session with Dr. Roy Chung, GBS, JP, Founder and Chairman of the Bright Future Charitable Foundation, Co-founder of Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd., and Honorary President of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.

The session explored Dr. Chung’s career journey, from leaving school for the working world and beginning in a stockroom to becoming a manager and taking the step into entrepreneurship. The discussion also focused on the challenges and unexpected experiences of building a business, including the shift from operating locally to expanding internationally.

Looking back and ahead, Dr. Chung was invited to reflect on what he would tell his 20-year-old self, what he hopes to see more of in society, and what continues to motivate him. Broader themes included pursuing dreams, building confidence and shared goals, resolving conflicts, and philanthropy.

Students were also encouraged to consider their own futures and how they could contribute to society. Overall, the sharing session offered students an opportunity to reflect on the many paths a career can take and the qualities that support personal and professional growth. Dr. Chung’s journey, together with the discussion of dreams, confidence, collaboration and philanthropy, invited participants to consider their own aspirations and how they might contribute to society.
