The 2nd International Symposium on Humanities and Culture: Vision of a Digital Future

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Hong Kong Baptist University is pleased to invite you to the 2nd International Symposium on Humanities and Culture: Visions of a Digital Future, which will be held at the HKJC Auditorium, Hong Kong Palace Museum on March 26 (Wednesday) and 27 (Thursday), 2025.

[For Undergraduate Students] This event is CCL-recognized. Students who attend at least one session out of the four sessions will be awarded 1 CCL unit. While it is optional, you are highly encouraged to participate in multiple sessions to earn more than 1 CCL unit.

To register for CCL-recognized sessions, please use the same registration link and select the option: HKBU Undergraduate Students (CCL-recognized).

Important Notes for CCL:

  • Please bring your student card to the event. Our staff members may request it to confirm your attendance.

  • CCL units will only be awarded to students who: 

  1. Attend the entire session.

  2. Complete the post-event evaluation form (the form link will be sent to attendees via email post-event) 

 

Building on the discussions from our first international symposium, this year’s event will delve into the intersection of digital technology, humanities, and culture amidst rapid technological advancements, particularly the rise of generative artificial intelligence in multiple domains. The 2025 symposium will focus on four pivotal themes:

  1. The Place of Humanities and Culture in Digital Futures

  2. Neglected Voices and The Challenges of AI

  3. Perspectives on AI and Transdisciplinarity

  4. Human Mind in the Future of Education

To foster rich dialogue and exchange of ideas, the symposium will bring together prominent scholars and esteemed professionals from around the world. Our distinguished lineup of confirmed speakers includes:
